Tomorrow, Nov. 2, I begin my third trip to Liberia. I'll fly from St. Louis to Chicago to Brussels to Freetown to Monrovia. Russ Schmitt, from Mankato decided to join me on this visit. We'll meet in Chicago and travel together from there. While in Liberia we'll work with Liberia Church of the Lutheran Confession (LCLC) Pastors Joseph Kwiwalazu, Albert Cheanweay, and Samuel Cheneken. We'll also be joined by several independent pastors and evangelists for a three day pastor conference and training seminar.

In addition to the Pastor Conference, the other highlight of the trip will be a visit to Zwedru in Grand Gedeh County in the south-eastern part of Liberia where Pastor Cheanweay serves a small congregation and has a few preaching stations in the surrounding area. This will be the first CLC visit to Grand Gedeh County. Pastor Cheanweay was trained by the LC-MS several years ago but was led by his conscience to leave that fellowship. After serving as an independent Lutheran pastor for a few years, he joined the LCLC through a colloquy conducted by Pastors Kwiwalazu and John Hein. For several years the congregation was able to meet in a rented school room. Recently the government decided to ban the practice of renting classrooms to churches. While in Zwedru, we will be looking at a few properties that are available for lease. Your prayers for safe and uneventful travel along with the Lord's abundant blessings on the preaching and teaching of God's word are requested and much appreciated.
